The activity on the British front continues, patrols being active in raiding the German trenches and inflicting many casualties. The preparedness 'of the British 'Army has made a great impression in France', and London and Paris are expectantly awaiting the next big move. In Galicia German attempts to assume the offensive have been nullified by the Russians. The total prisoners taken now number nearly 200,000. Parties of Austrians crossed the Rumanian frontier and were disarmed. The Russian successes have made a great impression in Rumania, and intervention is being urged. Official messages from Italy declare that the advance in that theatre continues. The Austrian reports, however, state that the Italians were ignorant of the Austrians' withdrawal to their new positions, and declare that they have not suffered any losses^ either in men or material. '
