TRAMWAYS AMALGAMATION.
According to a message from Christcburch, iramwaymen in New Zealand are being approached with proposals for amalgamation with Australia. There is much to be done before, such a union will be practicable. The Wellington Union, owing to the retirement of Mr. W. C. Noot, i& looking for another secretary, Mr. Christeson occupying the position temporarily. When Wellington's house is in order, there must be a resuscitation of the Tramwayihen's Federation, which has not shown signs of life for some time. Then there will bo the further question whether Now Zealand motormen and conductors should join hands with their fellows across tho Tasnian or support the pominioc Transport Workers' Federation proposal.
