PLIMMERTON SHEEP

Sir, —Ma-y I be allowed space to express my disgust at the way in which the residents' gardens are being destroyed at Plimmerston Extension. It appears that 'the owner of the sheep lias leased a property that has not been fenced, and in consequence his sheep are allowed to wander at large. His explanation is that the ranger has given him permission for his sheep to practically have the free use of the place, and his reply •to residents is that they should put up proper fences. As matters now stand it is useless for us to attempt to do anything in the way of gardens. Only the other day sheep were to be seen on the verandah of a resident's dwelling. Surely we are allowed some protection for property.—l am, etc.j
