GISBOKNE, This Day
A report from Tnparoa states that through the capsizing of a launch which was towing a timber raft ashore, the second officer of the steamer Mako was drowned. His name is not available. The launch capsized about 75 yards from the shore in a heavy sea. The second officer's body was recovered on the rooka. Another occupant of the launch succeeded in swimming ashore through the surf.
