LATE GENERAL GALLIENI.

PARIS, -29th May. The late General Gallieni was about to undergo an operation. He was extremely weak, and unable to take nourishment. The doctors tried blood transfusion, but this was unavailing.
General Gullieni was regarded as the saviour of Paris. During the critical days in August, 1914, he rushed 80,000 of the Paris garrison from Paris' to the battlefront, and they turned the tide of the great struggle of the Mame in favour of the French.
