A GRAND RECORD.
To send, 5973 members to the front is a Tecord of which any society might well be proud, and this is the record of the Amalgamatedl Society of Carpenters and Joiners. The figures are taken from the English monthly report for March, and are, therefore, at least Ihree months old, so far as Australia arid New Zealand are concerned. Also they are official figures, the numbers including only those members who have notified the society of their movements. It is known unofficially that very many more have enlisted. These are the totals as published in the journal:—England and" Wales, 3508; Scotland, 1473; Ireland, 112: Australia, 424; Canada, 189; New Zealand, 175; South Africa, 90; U.S.A., 2.
