PETONE WOOLLEN WORKERS.

The Labour Department, through th6 Inspector of Awards, is taking proceedings against the Petone (Wellington) Woollen Workers' Union for an alleged breach of section 6 of'the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Act, 1908: The alleged offence, is that during the months of February and March the union did instigate certain workers employed by the Wellington Woollen Manufacturing Company to take part in an unlawful strike, the said workers being bound at the commencement of the strike by an award of the Court of Arbitration.

The penalty claimed from the union is £200. The hearing of the case will probably be taken on 16th May.
