A CAPTURED REDOUBT
INVINCIBLE IN FRENCH HANDS
PARIS, 31st March.
The redoubt captured by the French; in the Avocourt wood was massively constructed with cement foundations and bomb-proof shelters 12ft thick, and armed with revolver machine-guns, protected with, steel hoods. It has since proved invincible in French hands, as wave after wave of German infantry have found to their bitter cost. GERMAN ACCOUNTS. LONDON, Mth March. A Berlin communique says: Repeated night-long French attacks, with the-object of recapturing the wood north-west of Avocourt, were repulsed. Immelmann brought down a Britisn biplane, his twelfth success.
