CALL TO ARMS
WELLINGTON'S RESPONSE.
The system; of employing voluntary helpers'during war-time is being ex-tended-from Base Records to the Group Office. The Group Commander (Major Corrigan). has decided to seek the help of four gentlemen, who will give voluntary assistance at the Group Office daily in the writing up and arranging the records for the new recruiting scheme.. Those desirous of rendering assistance should, therefore, communicate with Major Corrigan immediately.
The following additional recruits registered, in No. 5 Group (Wellington City and Suburbs) have been passed as medically, fit :—
M'Kenzie, John Thomas, engineer. , . (infantry) Watson, Alexander, line erector (infantry) Short, Ernest, painter (engineers) Christie, John, clerk (mounteds) Maynard, Frederick Foster, engineer (infantry)
Mr. Hine, the member for Stratford, has accepted appointment as captain in the 16th and will go into camp at Featherston in March (states a Press Association message from Stratford), i f
