BAPTIST UNION
CONFERENCE AT AUCKLAND. (BT TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, Bth October. At the Baptist Union Conference Mr. Auton submitted the report of the Wellington, or Central, Auxiliary. This stated that the work of the Churches had been hampered owing to the number of men who had responded to the Empire's call. The Central Auxiliary had joined with the Presbyterians, Congregationalists, and Methodists in having an undenominational institute at the camp. The Patriotic Association of Wairarapa is making itself largely responsible for the commodious building, and the auxiliary might have to provide £200 towards the cost of the building, and also a portion of the expenses of upkeep. They would also require to provide for the' comfort of our boys on the Hospital Ship. A deputation from the Ministers' Association was warmly welcomed, and entertained at lunch.
