TWO ACCIDENTS

A middle-aged man named Thomas Tarpey, while crossing the street yesterday afternoon near the Central Hotel, Lambton-quay, fell down, and a twohorse lorry, driven by Ernest MHay, and owned by Messrs. Blake and Carlisle, of Pirie-street, passed over bis body, inflicting a severe injury on the left thigh, and probably compressing the lower abdomen. Tarpey was conveyed to a hairdresser's sh6p in the vicinity, where he was attended to by Dr. Henry, who ordered his removal in the ambulance to the Hospital. A man named Cunningham was knocked down in the same locality by a taxi-cab, driven by Daniel Chapman, and" for a time was rendered unconscious, but after a little rest and attention was able to walk home.
