A TOTALISATOU PACKAGE AND LITIGATION

A totalisator package, consigned by Messrs Turnbull and Jones, electrica-1 engineers, Christchurch, through the New Zealand Express Company, to the Hawkes Bay Racing Club, was the subject of a claim for £21 8s 6d, heard by Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., in the Magistrate^ Court yesterday. The package — a dividend board — was one of fifteen consigned by the Express Company to the Huddart, Parker Company's steamer Victoria on or about the sth December, 1913, just after the strike, and the claim was brought by the Express Company against the Shipping Company The question in dispute was whether the goods were put on board the defendants' steamer at Lyttelton. Evidence was partly heard in Christ* church, and other evidence was taken at some length yesterday. His Worship reserved judgment. Mr. A. ,M. Thomson appeared for plaintiffs and Mr. A. W. Blair for defendants.
