PHILOSOPHICAL SOCIETY

The Astronomical Section of the Wellington Philosophical Society held its annual meeting last night, Mr. A. C. Gifford presiding. The annual report stated that there was a membership of sixty, with an average attendance of twenty-five at meetings held during the year. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £32 5s 7d. "Some Points in the Theory of Optical Instruments" wa-s the subject of an interesting address delivered by Professor Marsden.
