COST OF LIVING

The Cost of Living Bill was introduced in the House of Representatives this afternoon It provides for the setting up of a Board of Trade, consisting of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, and two other members appointed by the Government. The schedule of the Commercial Trusts Act is amended to cover any article of food for human consumption, and ingredients used in the manufacture of any such article. It empowers the Government to 'authorise the establishment by borough councils of milk stations for. distributing milk supplies, and also to establish bakeries and brick-making works.
