MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS. At the first meeting this season of the Management Committee of the Wellington Cricket Association, held last evening, there were present : Messrs. C. G. Wilson (in the chair), M. J. Crombie, F. Midlane, J. Fanning, V. B. Willis, H. Burton, G. F. Gibb, and F. Martin. Sub-committees were elected as follow : Senior Grounds Committee, Messrs. C. G. Wilson, H. Burton, and F. Midlane ; Junior Grounds Committee, Messrs. A. Lowe, V- B. Willis, and F. Martin ; Third-class Championship Committee, Messrs. A. E. Wilson, E. Guise, and F. J. O'Driscoll; Senior Selection Committee, Messrs'. W. S. Brice, F. Midlane, and M. J. Crombie. Entries for the Senior and Junior Championships were received from the following clubs: — Central, North, East, I Victoria College, and Old Boys. The latter club also entered a team for the Third-class Championship. Permission was granted Trentham and Hutt to en1 ter a team each for the Senior Championship. Owing to the unusual circumstances prevailing this season, it was decided that the application of the Boys' Institute to enter their Old Boys' team in. the Senior Championship could not be granted. It was resolved that all clubs be requested to inform the committee at once how many teams they intend to enter for the various competitions. Practice is to commence at the Basin. Reserve on Saturday next, and the seasor proper will open on the following Saturday, 16th October, with a representative match Wellington v. Trentham, the proceeds of which will go towards Christ mas presents for soldiers at the front. The Chairman, and G. F. Gibb were appointed the association's delegates to attend a representative meeting of sports bodies on Thursday next.
