PETONE CLUB^ ANNUAL REPORT. In the report to be presented at the annual meeting of ■ the Petone Cricket Club, the committee states that for the first time since entering under the Wellington Cricket Association the senior team won the championship. The junior team were runners-up in their grade, winning six and losing three out of nine matches played. The third-class team were bracketed as winners, with Old Boys. Messrs. S. Brice, J. Rodgers, and A. Cate gained places in the representative team, the first-named player also winning the president's trophy for the batting average. Mr. Tregear secured Mr. H. Card's trophy for best fielder, Mr. Taylor won Mr. H. Palmer's trophy for best all-round junior player, and Mr. R. Cowie gained Mr. Card's trophy for best all-round player in the third eleven. The finances of the club were sound, the balance-sheet showing a small credit. During the year Messrs. .Bennett and Gordon were transferred to other districts, and club members at present on active service at the front were: Captain Hardham, V.C., and Messrs.
