The Bank of England return issued for •the week ending Wednesday, 29th September^ is as follows, last week's figures being given in parentheses : — Coin, £61,818,000 (£62,539,000); reserve, £47,659,000 (£49,728,000) ; note circulation, £32,800,000 (£31,623,000); public deposits, £116,217,000 (£108,758,000) ; other deposits, £76,689,000 (£89,646,000) ; Government securities, ,£31,287,000 (£31;313,000) ; other securities, £132,315,000 (£135,677,000) ; proportion of reserve to liabilities, 24.70 (25.00). Short loans are quoted at 41 per cent. (4| per cent.), three months' bills 4J per cent. (4 1-16 per cent.). Imperial Consols, £65 (£65 Is 3d) . Australasian Stocks. — VictoriaD 4 per cents., £95 12s 6d (£95 7s 6d) ; New South. Wales 3£ per cents., £95 15s (£95 15s), 3£ per cents., 1930-50, £83 5s (£B3 15s) LONDON MARKETS. Wheat — Firmly held ; # 51s paid for Bluestem, per Australian sailer about to load. Flour — Market firm. Oats — La Plata, October shipment, 25s 6d. Peas — Scarce. Firmly held. New Zealand maples, 62s to 655. Beans — Market firm. Full prices prevailing. Svgar — Market firm ; prices unchanged. Butter — Market very firm; Danish still advancing. Cheese — Market quiet. New Zealand, 76s to 775. Copper— On the spot, £70 to £72 ss; three months, £73 to £73 15s. Tin— On the spot, £151 5s to £151 15s ; three months, £152 10s to £153. Pig Iron— Middlesbro' No. 3, 64s 8d per ton. Lead— Soft foreign, £24 12s 6d; at three months, £23 ss. Spelter — Cash, £68 per ton; forward, £62. Silver — 23|d per ounce standard. WOOL AND SHEEPSKINS. At the wool sales there was better 09mpetrtion for all sorts at late rates. Prices : Bidel, 16d; Mafeking, 16d and 15|d ; Malinga, 15£ d. New Zealand : Old, 16£ d, 14id; Waipolai, 25d, 203 d. At the sheepskins sale 5600 Australasian were oft'oTed ; about 800 wene withdrawn. There was a fair attendance. 'Merino combings were unaltered, clothings a shade lower. Crossbreds combings at par, a farthing lower, clothing neglected. BRADFORD MARKET Business in top-making wools at Bradford is dull and small. Prices for tops on the spot : 64's quality, per Ib, 39£ d; 60's, super, 38jd ; 60's, common, 37-ad ; 56's, 32d ; 50's, 28^d ; 46's, 25d ; 40's, 23d.
