GERMANY'S INTERNAL CONDITION
PSYCHOLOGICAL BREAKDOWN POSSIBLE. THE SUPPLY OF FOOD AND MONEY. , LONDON, 26th June. A neutral observer, interviewed by the Daily Chronicle, after several visits to Germany, states :— The financial position of Germany 13 adequate, owing to the issue of paper money, though only a war indemnity, can prevent the nation's bankruptcy after peace' has been declared. There is a- lack of necessities, except meat. Intensive culture has been adopted on a large scale. Families are cultivating their own plots. All_ the military supplies have been organised on an enormous scale and with perfect efficiency. The only possible breakdown is psychological, but there is no outward sign of its coming. The people have the utmost confidence in ultimate victory. Nevertheless, there is profound sorrow owing to the loss of relatives. Almost 1 every family is in mourning. The people recognise that the war is bound to be long, as Britain will persevere to the end. There is no .m-ospect of a revolution. Llie Kaiser is "lopular, but the Crown Prince is scorned, owing to his alleged misbehaviour.
