EXTRAORDINARY SUICIDE
BOY DIVES DOWN STEAMER'S FUNNEL. (Received June 25, 9.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. 'An extraordinary suicide occurred on the voyage of the Willesden from Buenos Aires, An apprentice named G. Lyons climbed the iron ladder attached to the funnel, and when he reached the top, he paused, and then dived headlong down inside the funnel. It is estimated that he must have fallen 70 feet into the emoke-box, where the temperature was 600 degrees.
