PATRIOTIC LAND SALE
Under the auspices^ of the Patriotic Society Mr. S. George Nathan _ conducted an auction sale of gift land in the Hotel Windsor 6hop yesterdny There was a small attendance of th<s public. The first lot offered comprised two sections at Paremata, presented by Mr. Patrick Mungavin, farmer, of Povirua. It was intimated that Messrs. Field and Luekie would attend to legal matters free of charge Bidding started at £100, and in five bids reached the sum of £136, at which price it was secured by My. Alfred Trevor, of Pareniata. Next a scctton at Rarori, overlooking the Karon' Park, was offered. This was purchased for £30 by Mr. W. Liverton. Mr Liverton also bought, for £100. a section at Miramav presented by the Evans Bay Land Co. Th© total proceeds of the, ealo waa £266.
