INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION
The monthly meeting of the committee of the Wellington Industrial Association was held last night, the president (Mr. C. B. Norwood) being 'in the chair. Among those present was Mr. J. B. Laurenson, president of the Canterbury Association. The secretary read a letter from the Government Statistician stating, in reply to a request, that he could not, as in the past, supply thirty copies of the New Zealand Year Book, 1914. In future three copies would be sent to the association free of charge. The Auckland Association forwarded resolutions regarding the encouragement of essay writing on industrial subjects among school children, and asking for the co-operation of the Wellington Association. The secretary stated that he had made arrangements to have a series of articles on such subjects incorporated in the School Journal. — -It was decided to reply that the Wellington Association^ had, by its actions in the past, shown its agreement with the principle of the Auckland resolutions. The financial statement showed a satisfactory state of affairs.
