MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Four statutory first-offending inebriates camo before Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.jVI., at tho Magistrate's Court to-day. All were convicted and discharged with tl|io exception of a member of tho Reinforcements, who was ordered 'to bo handed over to the military authorities. Thomas Albert Rafter, who was arrested 3'esterday, was charged with indecently oxposing himself in Ohiro-road. He was remanded for onq week, and on Mr. H. F. O'Loary's application, bail was' fixed at £50, with two sureties to that amount. Edward Reid pleaded not guilty to the theft of a rug valued at £2 10s, tho property of Edward Reynolds. He was convicted and sentenced to seven daye' hard labour For threatening behaviour, whereby * breach of the peace was caused, Thomas Campbell was lined 20s, in default threo days in gaol. For drunkenness John Prye© was fined 40s. in default seven days' imprisonment, while for a. breach of his prohibition order he was- mulcted in a penalty of 20s, with 7s costs, in default three days in custody.
