LODGE MEETINGS
Star of Wellington Lodge, 1.0.G.T.. held its weekly meeting in St. Peter's Mission Hall, Taranaki-street, the C.T. presiding. The Sisters Biggs, from Pahiatua, were present and conveyed greetings. Mr. Bailey entertained the members with gramophone selections Very enjoyable items were also rendered by Bro. Howitt. The next meeting will | take the form of "patriotic night,' in 1 charge of Bros. Burton and Howitt. On the same evening the Juvenile Temple also met. There was a large attendance, and 60 ven new members joined, A prize was offered for the best musical item to be given on 10th June, and a large number of entries was received. The Superintendent (Sis. Roberts) reported the membership now to be 50. Choruses were sung by the boys and recitations were given by the eirls. The quarterly meeting of the Pride of Brooklyn Lodge, No. 58, U.A.0.D., was held in the Masonic Hall, Brooklyn. A.D. Bro. Mehaney presided over a very good attendance of members and visitors. One new member was elected and initiated, P.A. Bro. J. Benge acting a* master of ceremonies. The nomination of . officers took place, the minor offices being • well contested. Bro, Cronk was thank- ' ed for his invitation to the brothers to attend a farewell to Bro. England on 15th June. The Arch-Druid having fulfilled his term as presiding officer, a hearty vote of thanks was accorded him for his able and faithful services to the lodge. Visitors included D.P. Bro. Aus- i tin, No. 2 District, and officers and mem- ' bers of Excelsior Lodge, who suitably replied to a cordial welcome. An official visit will be paid to Excelsior Lodge on the 21st June.
