TO THB BDITOR. Sir, — In reply to "England for Ever," re _ the Government and Civic authorities doing as he suggests to prevont so-called shirking, may I ask "does he oxpect to stimulate recruiting in putting forward such high-banded methods." We all know one volunteer is worth a dozen pressed men. Itis time enough to go to extremes when those in authority think proper, not for every Tom, Dick, and Harry to make a hash of things.— l am, A BRITISHER. 25th May, 1915.
