MATTRESSES AND A LAUNCH (II TELEGRAPH— MESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, 27th May. The "New Zealand Furniture .Trades* Industrial Union of Employers, who held their annual meeting here yesterday de.oided to offer to the Government the 400 kapok mattresses required for the equipment of the hospital ship. The value of the gift is about £500. The offer of the Now Zealand Power Boat Association to present one of the motor-boats required for the Dominion's hospital ship has been accepted. The association also offered to man the launch but the Governoi states this is opposed, to the regulations. The cost of tho launch, with complete equipment, will b© probably £350. ANOTHER £1000. Mi*. A. Macintosh, superintendent In New Zealand for Messrs. Dalgety and Co., has advised the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) that the directors have voted the sum of £1000 to the National Fund for the relief of wounded soldiers and Bailors and their dependents. The money will be available as soon as the Trust lifts been formed. EVENING POST LIST. A National Fund li&t in aid of New Zealand soldiers and sailors has been, opened at this office.
