BIG FIRE IN LONDON
SEVERAL PREMISES DESTROYED FIREMEN'S HARD FIGHT* ■ LONDON. 4th May. A big fire occurred at Crutched Friars, on the site of the new offices of the Port of London Authority. Bucknall's cork factory and other premises were burnt out, and several wine and spirit warehouses narrowly escaped. After an hour and a-half's work, the flremen saved the railway bridge. At one time the Fcnchurch-street railway station was endangered, owing to high winds. The train services were suspended.
