OUTRAGE BY GERMAN NAVAL OFFICERS
SHOOT THEIR MEN TO PREVENT THEIR RESCUE. LONDON, 4th May. German officers from the sunken torpedo boats, rather than allow the men to be reEcued, shot five dead while tho latter were leaping into the water. An officer was seen crouching on the sloping decks, deliberately aiming at the stragglers in the water as the British rescuers approached. One of the firers was a captain, who 'committed suicide when he was captured.
