STEAMER TORPEDOED OFF THE SCILLY ISLANDS
TWO FIREMEN KILLED. (Received' May 5, 10 a.m.) LONDON, 4th May. Tiie steamer Minterne, coal laden for the River Plate, was torpedoed off tho Scilly Islands. Two firemen were killed ; the remainder of the crew wero rescued. [The Minterno was a steel vessel oF 3018 tons gross, built in iyO3, and owned by the Minterne S.S. Company. Her port of registry was London.]
