(Received May 4, 3.5 p.m.) COPENHAGEN, 3rd May. The Norwegian steamer Laila, timbei'* laden, for England, was torpedoed in the North Sea. ANOTHER VESSEL SUNK RESCUE VESSEL FIRED AT. (Received May 4, 3.15 p.m.) LONDON, 3rd May. 'The crew ot the Norwegian steamer American landed at Newcastle. She was torpedoed in the North Sea and sank in two hours. The crew of thirteen were hours in the boats, when the Norwegian mailpacket Sterling picked them up. A submarine fired two torpedoes at the Sterling, but missed her.
