; ITALIAN INTERVENTION AUSTRIANS PREPARED FOR THE WORST (Times and Sydney Sun Services.) (Received May 4, 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, 3rd May. A Petrograd message states that well-informed quarters believe that Italian> intervention will occur sooner than expected. Apparently the Austrians are prepared for the worst. The military authorities at Trieste fiave^ had printed thousands of manifestos in the Italian, German, and Serbo-Croatian languages, for distribution in frontier regions, informing the people that the Italian army is a foe ready to occupy territory which the authorities will be compelled to abandon.
