DAMAGE DONE AT DUNKIRK GIRL DECAPITATED; BODIES OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN FOUND
PARIS. 3rd May. A splinter from the first German shell at Dunkirk decapitated a girl. Another shell fell in the Grand Place, killing many civilians. The military hospital was partially wrecked^ and a number of wounded killed. A shell fell in the suburbs and swept awa.y four small houses. The inmates perished. Another house was reduced to ruins, and the bodies of a woman and four children were found in the debris. UNITED STATES AND GERMANY TALK OF A BOYCOTT "WE WILL NEED AMERICA AFTER THE WAR" (Received May 4, 9 a.m.) AMSTERDAM, 3rd May. A movement is afoot in Germany to boycott American goods in retaliation for America providing the Allies with ammunition. 'Commercial circles in Hamburg, especially Herr Ballin's followers, are opposing the movement as being foolisli and ruinous. The journal Hamburger Nachrichten says:—" \9s must be careful, for we will need America after the war." •
