Arrangements h&Yc been made for the Brisbane to proceed to Hongkmig almost Immediately The Brisbane was built in 1883 for the Melbourne Company's coal trade, her principal dimensions being: Length, 230 ft; beam, 33ft; draught, 16ft 6in. She has a, gross tonnage of liio tonß. When the vessel first arrived in Australia she was schooner-rigged, carrying yardarma, which, of course, aided her progress materially in a fair wind. ■On account ot the growth of trade and the urgent necessity for rapid handling, it was later on decided to dkpenee with these.
