A benefit concert will be held tonight in the Conoert Chamber of the Town Hall. Th« proceeds arc to bo devoted to a fund for the benefit of incapacitated returned troopers and their dependents or the dependents of troopers killed while in. action. Tho Wellington Amateur Choral Club is to be assisted by other loading artists, and some of Miss Beore's clever little pupils will give an exhibition of artistic dancing 1 . A midnight party in certain toa-rooms at Newtown was suddenly interrupted in the early hours of Saturday morning by the appearance of Police-Sergeant Murphy, and Constables Joss, Hedgeman, and Moriarty.
