TURKISH BATHS
MUNICIPAL UNDERTAKING. On the recommendation of the Finance Committee the City Council last night resolved 1 " That the purchase of Hall's Turkish Baths be completed in terms of the former resolution passed, viz., to pay £1500; and also that provision be made to carry on the undertaking as a temporary municipal one." Councillor Fuller congratulated the council upon the clause. He thought the departure was a wise one, and in the future this department of the council's activities might be extended. _ The Mayor stated, in. reply to a question, that it had not been determined how the > baths were to be carried on, but carried on they would be Until other baths were provided. The buildings would not be demolished until other baths had been erected.
