Hurley ; assistant master, Mr. _B. H. Rowntree ; assistant mistress, Miss M. C. Scott; assistant mistress, Miss R. L. Ziman. Wairongomai,_ sole teacher, Miss J. Campbell ; Hinemoa, sole teacher, Miss R. M'Coli ; Belvedere, assistant mistress, Mj». S. G. Jones; Kilblrnie, assistant, Miss C. Finlayson; Mount Cook Infants', assistant mistress, Miss V. M'Lachlan have been appointed woodwork instructors. , Mr. Bennett, the new headmaster of the Erittomart-sfci-eefc, School, has been in the teaching profession for 43 years. He entered lb in England, and for the last 35 years he has been in the service of the Wellington Education Board — as second assistant at Willis-street, first rssisfcant at Newtown for four years, headmaster afc various schools, including JorinsonviJle, Eketahuna, Carterton, and Karon. During the fourteen years he has been m .charge of th© Karori School he took the f ull_ course of practical and theoretical chemistry and physics at Victoria College, Under his administration pupils of the, Karori School have figured prominently in the scholarship lists, and haye also done excellent work in the athletic field. Mr. Bennett will be greatly missed by a large number of the residents of Karori, among whom he has been very prominent in bowling and horticultural circles, but all will join in congratulating him on his well-deserved promotion.
