CONCESSIONS TO SOLDIERS STEAMER FARES.

District Orders issued laßfc night contain the notification for general information that the Union Steam Ship Company and the Huddart-Parker Steam Ship Company are arranging for the granting, to members of the Reinforcements proceeding from the Trentham Camp to their homes on leave, of return steamer passages at single rates, o» production of certificate from the officer commanding the camp. In order that there may be no com* plaints as to abuse of these concessions, it is directed that the certificates, showing that members of the Reinforcements Are proceeding to their homes on leave, and ure entitled to the necessary return steamer passages at single ratee, shall only be issued at camp, by the camp commandant or the officers commanding each subsequent Reinforcement. No such certificates will, therefore, be issued in districts, even though there may be reason to believe applicants are travelling to their homes On leave, it being obligatory for them to obtain the certificates, when leave hus been granted* before leaving camp. Attention of group or other officetß at ports is to be particularly drawn to these instructions, and as such certifl' cates or passages are not transferable, any case of malpractice coming under notice is to be immediately reported, to conserve, the concession for bojia-fide cases.
