IMPROVED ACCESS TO BROOKLYN
— ♦ One of the street-widening proposals at present under consideration by the City Council is the acquiring of Mrs. Seagar's property at the top of Ohiro-road for tho purpose of taking Nairn-street right on to Brooklyn. The road is now being constructed from Nairn-street right to the top of the hill, and to permit of proper vehicular traffic it has become imperative to widon out the thoroughfare on both sides of Mrs. Seagar's property at th'o corner. This will permit of traffic to Brooklyn on a grade of one in twelve, instead of one in seven or eight. Authority was given > to a sub-committee to carry out negotiations, and these have so far advanced that an agreement has been arrived >at between Mrs. Seagar and the council. This arrangement will be submitted to the Finance Committeo for its approval at its meeting this afternoon.
