— — » STANFOED 'VARSITY TEAM COMING. _ The Wellington Baseball League haa received intimation from the New South Wales BaseGftll Association that the wellknown Stanford 'Varsity is sending a baseball team, comprising fourteen men, to Australasia early next spring. Matches are asked for in the University cities of Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin. Two colleges are playing the game at present, namely, St. Patrick's College", Wellington, and the Maori Agricultural College, near Hastings. Probably a match between a team representing the schools will be played against the visitors. The local league is taking the matter up enthusiastically, realising the 'immense benefit the game will receive.
