(Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on 6pot) : — Meat.— There has been no material change in market conditions during last week; The market remains firm" together with a i'air demand for all descriptions of New Zealand. North Island, 5 1546 d per lb ; ordinary quality, 5 13-16 d; ewes, IS^d. Lamb (other than Canterbury), 7§d for best quality. Beef*— larger ar* rivals at market— hinds, 6|d per lb; fores, 6d. Butter.— The market is firm at the advance, with a good demand for colO' nial. Danish, per ewt, 138s to 140s ; New Zealand, 134s to 1365, exceptionally 138s ; Australian, 130s to 1345, exceptionally 1355; Siberian, 128s to 130s; Argentine, 128 a to 130s. Cheese.">The market is firm at th« advance, with a moderate denlaond by the trade. On a-ccount of large quanti" ties required for the Government, spot market is bare. Canadian, white and coloured, 92s to 94s per cwt; New Zealand, white and coloured. 90s to 925, exceptionally 935; Australian, 86s to 88s; States, 84s to 90s. Estimated Cajiadian cheese etodks at London, Liverpool, and Bristol on the let March wac 78,000 boxes, against 96,000 at the same time last year. New Zealand and Australian cheese stocks on Ist March at London and Bristol were 14,700 crates, agaiast 35,700 at the same time laet year. Hemp. — The market is steady, but without animation. New Zealand good fair grade, £31 per ton., fair £29 ; fair current Manila, £35; forward shipment at itame prices. The output from Manila for the week was 14,000 bales. Wheat.— 'The market is weak and inactive. Buyers are holding back. Canadian and Amdricatf, and position, 60s per quarter; Argentine, February to April, 59*. Oats. — Tho market is quiet, with, a tendency in favour of buyers. Argen~ tine, February to April, 29s per quarter.
