About six thousand valid signatures have now been obtained to the petition for a poll on the half-holiday question Over eight thousand names have been placed on tho petition, but twentyiivo per cent, of these havo been found to be invalid sinco tho electors signing wpro not on the roll which wm in use for xorut.in.v purpasiM. The petition will bo iorw*r«l»d to the City Council shortly.
