In view of the fact that commercial explosives threaten to become unprocurable in a short time if the war continues, Mr. Griffiths (Minister for Works) states that the Government m considering the advisability of starting 'their manufacture. It is quite probable that if private supplies are below demands the Govern' ment will manufacture more than it requires, and supply the needs at cost price.
