OTTOMAN FORCES DEFEATED WITH HEAVY LOSS LONDON, 24th December. Petrograd reports: In the Caucasus and in the direction of Van the Turks were defeated on Sunday with heavy losses. The Russians pursued them and captured a mountain gun and ammunition. A few unimportant engagements have taken place in' the direction of Sitoykamysch. BEDOUINS AND JEWS-LATTER'S MONEY AND BELONGINGS TAKEN CAIRO, 24th December. A few days after the Russian warships departed, the Bedouin police stripped Jews of their money and belongings, and carried off children who were being sent by their parents to Alexandria by steamer.
