SHORTAGE OF SALTPETRE
A GERMAN PAPER SUSPENDED. (II VIES AND SIDNEY SON ERR VICES.) (Received December 26, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, 25th December. The issue of tho North German Gazette* of the 12th December was confiscated, because it published resolutions of the Brandenburg Chamber of Agriculture, stating that the shortage of saltpetre was imperilling the production of ammunition and explosive.
