NOTES FROM LONDON (FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) LONDON, 27th August. Miss Ella Cook, one of the nurses in the Native Department in New Zealand, is at present on holiday in England. Mr. M. A. Eliott (Palmerston North) expects to cross to New York by the Lusitania about a month hence. Mr. W. H. S. Brewer (Wellington) is endeavouring to put on the market an improved saucepan handle. It has already been favourably received by a large firm in Birmingham. On Sunday, 23rd August, the wedding took place, very quietly, at the famous old Church of St. Bartholomew, Smithfield, of Miss Janet Katherine Mary Anson, daughter of the late Mr. P. A. Anson, of Akaroa, and sister of the late Sir Denis Anson, Bart., to Mr. George Kenneth Thompson Fisher, eldest son of Bishop Fisher and Mrs. Fisher, of Burgh House, Flaggburgh, Norfolk. The ceremony was performed by Bishop Fisher and the Rev. T. L. T. Fisher. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Wallace (Wellington) spent a pleasant time in Canada and the States. They will see a good deal of England, but their intentions for the Continent have, of course, to be abandoned. Mr. Cyril S. Brice, eldest son of Mr. Sidney Brice, of "The Brae," Wellington, is engaged to Miss Molly Berth a Green, eldest daughter of Major J. Green, R.A.M.C. (London). Mr. Brice has joined King Edward's Horse. Mr. J. W. Chapman-Taylor (Wellington) is spending a short time in England studying the latest developments in domestic architecture, so that ho hopes to return to New Zealand with some novel j and up-to-date ideas.
