GRADING OF HEMP AND TOW
The total number of bales of hemp graded at tho ports in the Dominion last month was»sßl6, as compared with 11,011 for the corresponding month of last year, a decrease of 5195 bales. • For the twelve months ending 30th September, 1914, tho number of bales graded was 121,124, as compared with 158,397 for the previous twelve months, a decrease of 37,273 bales. During the month 1365 bales of tow were dealt with, as compared with 3476 for the corresponding month of last year, a decrease of 2111 bales. For the twelve months ending 30th September, 1914, the number of bales graded was 38,524, aa compared with 55,236 for th© previous twelvo months, a decrease of 16,712 bales. Stripper Slips.—During the month the number of bales graded was 72, as compared with 221 for tho corresponding month of last year, a decrease of 149 bales. For the twelve months ending 30th September, 1914, the number of bales passed for export was 3239.
