HEROISM OF A YOUNG JEW
CAPTURE OF THE JAROSLAW FORTS. PETROGRAD, sth October. The capture of the Jaroslaw forts by the Russians in Galicia was due to the heroism of a young Jewish private, who wa* taken prisoner by the Austrians and conveyed to a place of immense strategic importance. He secretly sketched the fortifications of the enemy's position, and escaped to the Russian lines. The attack resulted in the capture of the forts. The Jew was severely wounded.
