RUSSIA'S ENERGETIC MOVEMENT
TEN DAYS' FIGHTING RESULTS IN AUSTRIAN DEFEAT PETROGRAD, 6th September. It is officially reported that the Russians on Friday continued an energetic offensive movement along the whole Austrian line. The enemy's centre suffered the most. The 45th Regiment of Infantry was surrounded westward of Krasnostoff, in Russian Poland, thirty miles south-west of Lublin, and surrendered to a man. The prisoners included the commander, fifty-four officers, and a thousand soldiers. The Russian cavalry is now amongst the passes in the Carpathian mountains, which lie between Galicia and Hungary. VIENNA, 6th September. It is admitted here that ten days' fighting has resulted in the AustrUns being defeated. .
