STRIKERS' SENTENCES
A cablegram from London states that the Home Secretary has remitted the sentences _on prisoners cohnected with recent strikes. Asked ac to what the Now Zealand Government proposed > to do in the same direction, the Minister of Justice (Hon. A. L. Herdman) said that tho petitions for remissions of sentence are now before fcho Petitions Committee of the House, and nothing could _be done Until tho _ report of that committee had been received.
