ASSOCIATION NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. A meeting of the council of the Now Zealand Football Association wag held last evening. Mr. O. E. Fordham presided, and there were also present: — Messrs. K. Hutchinson (Marlborough), H. M'Keowen (Hawkes Bay), W. Auld (Taranaki), H. J. oahnon (Southland), W. J. H. Reynolds (Poverty Bay), J. J. Lewis (Wanganui), T. M'Laren (Auckland), A. C. Ken* (treasurer), B L. Salmon (secretary). In view of a letter from the Wellington Football Association, stating that it was prepared to accept the council's decision to re-open tho Crouch case by referring the matter to an appeal board, it was decided that Messrs. W. Monck ton, F. J. Courtney, and C. P. Skerrett constitute the appeal board, provided they were willing to act. On the suggestion of the Greymouth Association, it was decided to form two associations on the West Coast, one with headquarters at Greymouth, to be called the Westland Association ; the other, with headquarters at Westport, to be called the Buller Association. Several letters were received from Mr. A. E. Gibbe, Now Zealand's representative in London, and Monsieur Gasqueton, president oi the Bordeaux Association, asking if it were possible to arrange a tour through Australia and New Zealand next season, of a representative team from Bordeaux. — 'After discussing the matter it wa3 decided to leave the whole business in Mr. Gibbs's hands. Messrs. Lewis, Fordham, White, and Salmon were elected as a sub-committee to deal with the Otago-Caliterbury Brown Shield match, in cas.e of any emergency being caused on account Of tbe present international crisis. FIFTH A DIVISION TRIAL. For tho Fifth A Division trial match the following have been selected : —Goal, W Cunningham (Institute), Callister (Seatoun); right backs, Fitzgerald (Marist), G. Ward (YM.C.A.); left backs, Dinneon (Brooklyn), L. O'Connell (Marist) ; tight halves, Daniels (Marist), Mason (South Wellington); centre halves, Murle (Seatoun), Russell (Karori) ; left halves, Crane (V.M.C.A.), M'Arthur (Institute); right wing-forwards, Hally (Karori), M.'Elligett (Marist) ; inside, Scanlon {Marist), Knapp (South Wellington); centre, M'Cabe (institute), Mooneye (Marist) ; Left inside 1 ; Litttington (Karori), Gilbertson (Seatoun) ; loft wing, Pops (V.M.C.A.), TVhitehouso (Porirun). Emergencies : ForwardsPorter (V.M.C.A.). M'lntyro (Karori); halves, Brady (Marist), Graham (Seatoun) ; back Lambert (Institute). LEAGUE GAME HAWKES BAY BEAT WANGANUI. (ST mEGKAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WANGANUI, 6th August. At League football to-day Hawkes Bay beat Wanganui by 20 to 15, five tries, three converted, to three tries, two converted and a goal from a mark.
