IN VIENNA
TROOPS ON THEIR WAY TO THE FRONT. WOMEN'S TEARLESS FAREWELLS. (TIMES AND SYD.NET SUN SERVICES.) VIENNA, 3rd August. The whole day through troops march through the streets to the stations to entrain for the seat of war, accompanied by their womenfolk tearlessly speeding their husbands and brothers to the front. A fat peasant woman was selling potatoes at exorbitant prices. A crowd of four hundred women collected and shrilly protested against "sheer robbery" as unpatriotic. They overturned the potatoes and pelted the seller therewith. The police rescued her.
